When fishing a jig it is very important to watch your
line. If you notice the line going slack all of the sudden,
then chances are the bait is in the mouth of Mr. Bass. Secondly
if you see the line moving perpendicular to the direction of
your cast it is likely that a bass has picked it up and is swimming
with it. If this occurs reel up any slack line and set the hook. |

Do not jump the gun and set the hook when you see the
strike. Instead wait a second or two until you actually feel
the fish on. Often times anglers set the hook to early and pull
the bait away from the fish. |
