About Us
Long Island Bassmasters (LIB) is an affiliated chapter of the Bass Anglers Sportsman's Society (B.A.S.S.). Started in 1970 LIB was the 22nd affiliated club created and is one of the longest running BASS clubs in history.
Long Island Bassmasters is dedicated to conserving our natural resources and improving bass habitat. In 2002/2003 LIB enlisted the help of the New York State Conservation, The Army National Guard and others, placing over 150 stumps into LakeRonkonkoma. Above an Army National Guard helicopter strategically placing a stump in the lake. This hard work and dedication helped to improve bass habitat. LIB was recognized with the Conservation Award in 2003 by the NYS Bass Federation for its efforts, as well as by local media.
L.I.B holds meetings at the Ronkonkoma V.FW.on the 2nd Thursday of Each Month at 8 p.m. Anyone interested in joining L.I.B. is urged to come and attend one of our meetings and see what our club is all about.
Consisting of anglers with various interests in bass fishing, youth and conservation, Long Island Bassmasters has something to offer for everyone.
