Infatuated
with bass fishing since the age of two when his grandparents
Arnold and Juanita King of Taylor Ridge, Illinois began
taking him fishing, Jeremiah continues his love for the
sport. “When I was growing up my grandpa used to
say, you know there are more fish out there than bass
right? Because all I ever wanted to fish for was bass,”
Jeremiah explains. “Heck I think I was the only
kid in my grade school that would rather read BassMaster
Magazine instead of a comic book,” Jeremiah said.
In 2002, Jeremiah had 3 first place finishes, 2 Big Bass
awards, and a total of 8 top ten finishes. This consistency
enabled Jeremiah to qualify for the Wal-Mart BFL regional
championships.
For the 2003 season, Jeremiah will continue to keep a
hectic fishing schedule with nearly twenty tournaments
already on the calendar. Additionally he will be the director
of the American Bass Anglers Tournament Trail District
#46 in Northwest Illinois. The location for these events
is just plain awesome. With miles and miles of the Mississippi
river to fish, anglers are almost certain to bring in
a boat load. As
if all this isn't enough, Jeremiah also has a passion
for writing. His articles can be read on a variety of
fishing related internet sites and in the near future,
they will be featured in a variety of print publications.
A rough estimate showed that his articles are on websites
that are viewed by over 3 million visitors a year. Additionally
Jeremiah is a part of the Fishin’ Kids “Ask
a Pro” segment on the Pro Bass Networks. This program
allows kids to email their fishing related questions to
have them answered by a Bass Pro.
As a Business Management and Marketing Major, Jeremiah
is constantly looking at different angles to promote his
sponsors. “If I can put my education to work for
me in the fishing industry, then I feel I definitely got
my money’s worth”, Jeremiah explained. |
