Roger has been married to his beautiful wife, Laura,
since 1991. He is also the proud father of two wonderful
kids, Ryan and Rene. Roger not only enjoys bass fishing,
but also camping with family and friends, coaching his
kid's sport teams, and working and playing with his
dog "Parker".
Roger's first major fishing trip was in the mid 80's
to the beautiful state of Minnesota. A huge "thanks"
goes to the Mann family (Doug, Juanita, Rick, and Reece)
for including him on this trip. It was in this beautiful
lake setting, with eager and abundant bass to catch,
that a true passion came alive. Bass fishing has been
in Roger's blood ever since.
In 1986 Roger went to Wright State University on a baseball
scholarship. When not in class or on the baseball field,
Roger pursued his love of fishing by attempting to catch
many different kinds of fish: bass, walleye, white bass,
and catfish.
Roger
started tournament fishing in the mid 90's. With his
current partner and long time friend, Eric Foister,
Roger started fishing local tournaments and gaining
valuable knowledge of the sport. As his abilities and
confidence grew, Roger fished larger lakes and bigger
tournaments. In 2001 Roger began competing in the Fishers
of Men National Tournament Trail. After winning the
overall points in 2001and coming in second in points
in 2002, Roger's hard work, learning and studying, and
confidence in his own ability has started to pay off
with better tournament finishes and sponsors. He plans
to continue with Fishers of Men because he believes
in their message outside of the fishing. Larger individual
tournaments are also in his future.
Indiana
has reservoirs and natural lakes. This has helped Roger
become a more complete bass angler. He prefers to crank
and pitch but can finesse in grass, topwater, sight
fishing, and Carolina rigging if needed. Roger likes
throwing 200 and 300 series Bandit crankbaits and pitching
homemade jigs and tubes.
During Spring and Summer, you can find Roger on one
of the many northern and central Indiana Lakes, as well
as sneaking off to Kentucky to Kentucky Lake or Lake
Cumberland; also heading to Minnesota for the annual
family fishing trip.
Please fell free to contact Roger. He would be glad
to help answer any questions you may have.
