|
Ronnie began fishing at the age of 4, while being taught
by his father, whom Ronnie credits as the person responsible
for his love of the sport of fishing. Ronnie says, "I
have to say I am thankful for my dad taking me fishing
as a young child. He spent many wonderful days on the
water with me and taught me to love the outdoors."
He became enamored with the sport of Bass fishing after
a very successful fishing excursion to Lake Euffala, Alabama
with a friend.
Ronnie has also taken a second job with Bass Pro Shops
in Concord, NC, where he has earned the Certified Pro
Staff Member designation. It allows him the opportunity
to "play with all the new items" that come in
and to share information with the many customers that
he encounters every weekend. You will find him behind
the reel counter helping customers to pick out just the
right equipment, or if he's not too busy with customers,
you may just find him giving some fishing techniques seminars
and demonstrations of the latest baits in the store's
23,000 gallon aquarium.
Ronnie is still honing his fishing skills by fishing the
Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Tournament trail as well
as the Anglers Advantage Tournament Trail club tournaments
and attending the B.A.S.S. Masters University. He has
the dream of being able to work his way up the ranks through
the EverStart and FLW Tournament trails and to be able
to compete with some of the best in fishing in the next
few years. Meanwhile, he is working with several different
companies to help them with product promotions while at
Bass Pro Shops and on the tournament trail. He is sponsored
by companies like Rippler, Uncle Josh, McGuinness Baits,
and Competitive Edge as well as being on the pro staff
of Virginia Outdoors of Christiansburg, Va. |
