Bill Lindoerfer’s first experience with the great sport of fishing was at the age of nine when his father took him pan fishing on a local lake. This first experience with his father made a lasting impression and ignited a passion for fishing that continues on today. While Bill enjoys almost any type of fishing, bass fishing continues to be his number one pastime.

Bill has been actively involved in tournament fishing for only ten short years. He cut his teeth in the club ranks but quickly advanced to fish open team and individual draw tournaments. The American Bass Anglers has proven to be his favorite tournament trail by qualifying for the national championships four times in seven years. Bill can also be found fishing in the Midwest Sportsman Trail and the Wal-Mart BFL.

Living in Southern New Jersey, Bill has developed the skills and techniques necessary to excel at tidal bass fishing. His home waters are the Delaware River, Upper Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. He seems to enjoy the challenges presented by the tidal waters such as the water fluctuation and the constant changes in the surrounding conditions.

Like most competitive fishermen Bill gets his adrenaline rush from tournament fishing. However, he also enjoys teaching other fishermen the art of tidal fishing. He spends several weeks each year mentoring fishermen during their first tidal trips on the Delaware River and Northern Chesapeake Bay. He gets a great deal of satisfaction by shortening their learning curves and saving them from the frustration and disappointment of fishing tidal water for the first time. Simply put by Bill, “This type of fishing is very different from fishing in lakes or reservoirs. You have to be patient and willing to try techniques that initially take you outside of your normal comfort zone.”

Currently Bill maintains a full-time position as a Physical Education teacher at a special services school. By having time off on weekends, holidays and summers he manages to log his fair share of hours on the water.
