Lately it has been alot colder and the water temp has dropped alot.Still around 55 degrees or so.But lately when fishing a worm my bites have been lighter and real short.Does this normaly happen during colder winter months?Seems to me they hit stronger when it warmer. Is this right?

Bass are much more active in warmer water and they have bigger appitites. Try downsizing your worm and rigging. Below 55 degrees I much prefer a bass jig and pig/ Good luck, Johnnie

For clear ponds try purple or watermelon seed. For darker water brown, black or black/blue work very well and for in-between colored water I like Watermelon, black/blueflake and natural crawfish colored worms. Good luck. JC

For me I drop shot or split shot Roboworm Leeches this time of year...of course here in Cali I throw them year round. I also throw 1/8 oz Finesse Jigs with a small craw trailer this time of year.

Good advice from all... MBbass, With regards to your question on water temp, if you have a moment read this article that I had written about this subject, I think it might give you some insight into the effects of water temperature on bass: The Metabolic Bass - By Brendan Cucinello
