Got some great photos this weekend from the 797!

First Photo shows some of the bridge pillers and alot of brush that was sunk under the bridge

Second photo is of a point that runs out a long way from bank (notice the drop off at the end of point were curser is) There are also some shadows that look like stumps or standing timber on the point also.

This unit is unbelievable I cant imagin what the 997 or 1197 would be like.

I have more and will post as I get them edited!

Two more for you!

First Photo is of a railroad bridge. The left side of picture is of the new bridge that supports the railroad. On the right side is the old pillers that are still under water. Look at the detail in how the different layers of concrete or rock show up on the piller. Amazing!

The second photo is the same as #42 above just from a different direction, and with 2d sonar on. You can see the stick ups in both the side image and 2d sonar. Looks like some nice fish hanging out in that brush also!

mofish. bought the same unit, but have not been able to get out on the water (boat's in the shop). I read that this unit has a steep learning curve. Is interpreting the display difficult? How do you judge size? Haven't gotten to the manual yet, since it's in the boat. Carl

Carl sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner!

So far I have not taken it off factory settings! The unit is great right out of the box! Those photos are factory settings, except for how far the unit reads to the side, I did adjust the distance that it shoots.

It is very easy to operate. Once you have it installed and in the boat go to an object that you know what it looks like (like the bridge) and start looking at it.

As far as identifying objects, that is were study of the numerous photos on the internet has come in handy. I have been studying this stuff for about a year before I actually made the plunge and bought one! There are a lot of pictures out there to look at. Once you get on the water with it you will see it’s not really that hard to figure out. Study the manual that came with it, then just get out there and use it is the best advise that I can give. Be sure to post your pictures! If you have any questions be sure and ask maybe we can help you. Jonnie and Capt Don have been using there a lot longer than I have I’m sure between all of us we can help you out.
