(Jul. 07, 2008 - Long Island, NY)... On 29 Jun the Long Island Bassmasters of the New York BASS Federation Nation held their annual fund raiser with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Club President Dan McGarry said this tournament is held in honor and memory of Earl Glasshagel the original founder of the New York BASS Federation Nation and the president of the first BASS Federation Chapter north of the Mason Dixon line.

The event drew 60 two-man teams from across the state with everyone knowing the majority of the proceeds were going to charity. The tournament was held on Forge Pond in Riverhead, NY with each team bringing in a six-fish limit.

Eric Fieldstadt & Steve Socko brought in the winning weight of 16 lbs 7 oz. Second place saw a tie when two teams, George Kowanlinski & Bill Monti and Ken Deckman & Charles Demarie both weighed in 14 lbs. 10 oz. Landing in third place with a weight of 14 lbs. 3 oz. were Mitch Bernstein & Ken Dryer. Fourth place went to the team of Dave Cangro & Mike Erbis with 14 lbs even.

Tournament Director and event coordinator Jim Drost wishes to thank not only the participating anglers from all 60 teams, but also the many sponsors who’s generous donations made this event such a huge success.
