Drop Shotting By Brendan Cucinello

Technique is called “Drop Shotting” and to put it simply, it allows you to suspended your lure while maintaining contact with the bottom. It’s rigged with the lure tied above the weight. This allows you to “shake” or “twink” your lure while keeping it in the strike zone. It can be extremely effective at times.Most of the people I have fished with prefer drop shotting with a glass bead/brass weight combinations. I've yet to try dropshotting. Brendan, What type of knot do you use on the hook? I want to try it, but not sure of the knot.

I like using palomar knot for drop shotting. We had a nice topic going about Drop Shotting that had videos and more details. I think you may find it helpful for getting started with drop shotting:
