There were about a dozen of us out in the early AM float tube fishing. Caught a couple 2 pounders on a drop shot with a plastic lime green minnow.

Observed this Bat fly into the water next to me and the make a straight shot for a rock to dry off on. Three Ravens swooped down and one Raven picked the bat off the rock for its lunch.

Also took this shot of a new Crane hatchling that was hanging out on the pier!

Those Ravens get really aggressive! I have actually had them swoop down and take my bag of worms!

Ron, That area looks sooooo "bassy" with the reeds and rip-rap wall... what kind of depth do you have there?

Hi Brendan,
Not very deep, 4' to 9' near the reeds. Many times the bass are just hiding in 2-3' inside the reeds and they will dart out to take your lure. Sometimes it appears out of anger in attack mode just to protect their turf!

4' - 9' is plenty of water to have nearby in an area like that. What's the largest bass you've caught in there? Just wondering...

In years past when the bass were spanning in the spring I've seen guys catch 10+ lbs out of this area through sight fishing over the beds. The water was much clearer a few years back in the whole lake and it was easier to sight fish. The last couple of years if you caught a 5+lbs. you were doing well. May be some of the members that are on here have caught larger fish from the Paradise Cove area around the private dock but I haven't.
