Depends on the time of the year. This time of the year it is Jig time. I perfer to fish from a boat though. Early spring is when shore fishing is the most desirable. It is just easier with it getting dark early and not having to deal with the boat.

If there is cover near by I would go with a black n Blue jig with a black trailer. If no cover you can go with the good ole Sienko. Worms also work great. What are the chararistics of the lake or pond. What is the name of it? I'll take a look and give you suggestions. Spinnerbaits and topwater in morning and dusk also work wonders. Alot of variables. For instance last week I fished a night tournament and wieghed in just under 15 pounds for five fish. The tournament was only 4 hours. Started at 7 and ended at 11. I caught them on the jig, a Spinnerbait after dark and top water.

The shoreline is my favorite place to fish. I know a lot of guys are addicted to boats but for me, I'm most comfortable on the shoreline.

And when you fish the shoreline at a big lake like Castaic, there are tons of spots to explore. And if you fish it right you can do pretty good from the shore. Plenty of big ones come in within casting range when the water is warm.

Especially early in the AM, and dusk till dark.

I'd go with spinnerbaits-they catcth fish-at any depth and don't snag easily. Bank fishing you can lose some good lures when you snag. Good luck. Johnnie
