I said that I wasn't going to do any fishing at the Castaic Lagoon (So.Cal.) this weekend because of the Holiday...
So I am with my wife and kid at the local home depot and who do we run into? BILL SIEMENTAL!! (Who my wife has known and fished with since she was little.. he taught her to drive a stickshift) So I got to talk with him and it was AWESOME! If you ever get the chance to meet him, he is a really nice guy (Offered to send me a bunch of Lures and BBZ.com stuff! sorry Brenden..)
So of course later that day, I grab my fishing gear and head to the lake(this is where the report begins)
...as I am walking across the Bridge looking at the southern shore expecting to see a multitude of people, it was surprisingly empty??? in fact there were only two Anglers beside myself along the shoreline at 7:15pm. HAPPY ME! I cast a couple times in my usual spot... BOOM! my first Bass (bad thing about no people there is that I had to take the first picture myself) I "guesstimated" him at about 2.5 - 3lbs. "not bad" I thought, especially since I wasn't supposed to be here anyways? So I kiss the fish, throw him back and start casting again ( I am using the same green 7" Berkley worm that Used to catch the 8lb.+ the week before) about 20 min. goes by, and "BANG" another Bass! slightly smaller.. maybe 1.5-2lbs. but this had me Jazzed!(the second picture was taken by some passer by's who saw my awkwardly trying to take the picture myself).
Short story long...Hoped for three, but was happy with two, and I got to meet a fishing Legend (Literally, he was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing hall of fame this year) and all when I wasnt even going to think about fishing! Ha Ha!
