Hey Ron Nice Job! It was nice to finally meet you... and being able to talk with Geo about the intricacies of Finesse fishing at the Lagoon.
The Bad news is... there are a lot of people fishing the shoreline this time of year. The good news is, You cant just throw a pole in the water and catch a fish.Catching bass here is a process,if you put in the time and have the patience, the lake will give you a Lunker! It might be frustrating too most.. but thats why they call it fishing.. not CATCHING!! Have a great day guys!

HAHA!!! You should see what pound test line they have on their reels!!!! I was fishing one day and i saw a guy with a deep sea fishing rod and reel.I asked what he was going for and wat lb test line

There are a lot of guys who know how to fish the shoreline at Castaic. I have learned tons from the guys I've met fishing up there.

When I first started I didn't know didly and was doing pretty bad. I started meeting people, asking a lot of questions and eventually started having some success there.

But regardless of how good you think you are, Lady Lagoon is fair, she zeroes everyone their fair share. Like me and a lot of others, you may fall in love with her but don't expect here to love you back all the time.

She'll jazz ya one day and leave you flat the next. It's all part of the game. The guys who fish there a lot know the score and pay their dues.

The good news is there are a lot of guys who go to the Lagoon after hearing how great it can be, get skunked and never go back.

All I can say is persistence is the key to success there. It is one tough lake to fish.

Yep your right Geo,you really have to spend time at this lake. Lady Lagoon hates me alot of the time and gives me sardine trout. the bass are SOOOO hard to get even if your good.im glad some people dont come back because it gets crowded in the summer.

its bad enough that they come and fish without a license... Go swimming in their speedos on the fishing side of the lake (ya, it was an ugly site) leave their Mcdonalds trash, diaper trash, fishing trash (including a plethora of fish parts) and an ENDLESS amount of fishing line onshore.... if that was all I wouldnt be so mad..
BUT WHEN I LOSE MY BRAND NEW BBZ-1 SWIMBAIT TO A TANGLED MESS OF 80LB. FISHING LINE WRAPPED AROUND A LOG THAT SOMEBODY OBVIOUSLY THREW IN THE WATER WHEN THEY WERE DONE "FISHING"...!!!... ARGH.

when u left this son daughter father and granddad came, the dad kayaked in front of me with his 7 year old daughter swimming i was pissed i want to throw my hudd at them

I hate to say it Bassaholic but a lot of that fishing line left on the shoreline is from poachers who do long lining at night for carp and bass.

And if you see the line twirled around a stick like you would for kite string....
thats them.

It is sad what they do to the Lagoon at night. With fresh fish selling for over $6 per pound they can get $25 for a twenty pound carp at the not so legit fish markets.

who eats carp, they tastes like crap.Ive had largemouth bass and they taste better.( i caught it off a private lake in Louisiana )

Carp is a big asian favorite! They cut it up in chunks, fry it and eat it with rice or in soup.

But bass tastes better, if youve had it before.......
