Did anyone have their best year ever or catch their best bass this year?
I never even came close. Probably one of my worst tournament years and no9t eeven close to my best bass catches. Oh well, like the Chicago Cubs-'Wait till next year!!"

Moving to new area learning new lakes! Big Bass NO! Lots of bass yes! I guess I would have to say that the year has been good to me, I proved to myself that I can go to a totally different part of the country and catch bass,(keeper bass). It has given me a big boost of confidence for next years tournament season. I will probably fish the co-angler side of the tournaments, to learn even more about the lakes. I am really looking forward to it!!!!!!

In general, I would say this has been an average year for me... but the fall tournaments are about to begin, so who knows how it will end! wink

Can't catch them if your not fishin and this year I just haven't fished. Between work and family, time is not there. Started out the year with a good fish and haven't been back since. Call me a Cub!

Conley, I try every year to fish a new lake, somewhere I've never been. Usually my first trip will be my best. No preconceived ideas, just fishing. This year I fished two new spots, but was disappointed in both. Maybe next year? JC

Brendan good luck with the fall events-I certainly like fall fishing!!

Frank, some things ARE more important than fishing-God-family-fishing-in that order.

Hang in there Butch. Might I suggest trying new areas or even a new partner to spice things up? Good luck Bro. JC

Johnnie,

Thanks for the good wishes... first tournament was interesting to say the least... big engine started, stalled and then would not start for the rest of the day. My brand new (broke last year and was replaced with new unit) Lowrance LMS 527C broke (again) right after the engine stalled. So my tournament partner and I were stuck under trolling motor power only and with no front electronics... later that afternoon, my batteries started giving out on my trolling motor (a few miles down the lake)... a nice couple gave us a tow back to the marina where we spent the remainder of the tournament flipping boat docks...

I'm interested to see what Lowrance is going to do this time... I do not want to get stuck with another one of the same model... I have heard other guys tell me that they have had the same issue with the power switch and that it is a known issue... I hope they will offer me to switch to a comparable unit.

Brendon you and I have the same luck it sounds like!! If something is going to go wrong it is going to happen in a tournament for sure!

Good Luck and keep chunking!

All the planning in the world can't stop the tournament curse! Wonder if they'll ever make a fool proof battery? The Electronics I can live without on the big day, but not the trolling motor.
Our fishing is quickly fading away, been down in the 20's at night for awhile and getting colder-soon-ice out-I hate that!!!
