I'm usually at the goon Saturday mornings on the rocks or on my tube. I decided to tag along with some new guys to Piru at 6am. I was really surprised at the catch there. We only fished 6am to 930am and brought in about 7 ranging from 2lbs to 7lbs. All caught on DS and CR. I've never been there before but I might visit again. I'll post pics later.

Were you fishing from the shoreline or from a boat?

Shoreline. Do you fish there? Any tips? I think I might try there again.

I've fished it a couple of times around the launch ramp area and also further down the road to the last parking lot area.

One thing about Piru is too make sure you always have your radar on for big critters if you get too far away from that last parking lot.

I've seen some pretty big bear tracks around the shoreline and the animal proof cans in the parking lot are a reminder.

Dropshot is what worked best for me when I was there.
