My son gave me a gift certificate for Gary Yamamoto Baits. It's not important how much it was worth. the point is that with all those Senko's, Ika's, and all the colors and sizes even a $1,000. certificate would be too little. I guess I'd like to hear what each of you guys would choose if you had a hundred dollars to spend on GYCB. (Hurry up, I can hear the bass breathing out there) Good Fishing, JoeM

Joe Moe, This question is like the old Classic when you can only take one box and 15 pounds of tackle with you, what would it be?? Or we could say this is our top 10 list for "Gary Y" stuff. I love the three inch and four inch Senkos in Watermelon Black flake and I use that color for 75% of my Wacky worm rigs, so I guess I would take 4 Bags of the 4" Watermelon Black flake and two bags of the 3" Senkos in the same color. My for my last 6 bags give me 2 three inch in smoke and 2 four inch in Daquire. My final 2 bags would be four inch in Black and blue flake. good bassin Dan bass

Dan- I anticipated the choices from the Pro-Staff would be similar to reading Yamamoto's magazine Inside Line where every Pro gives his 3-digit color preferences. First thing I did as I read your post was to look for my GYCB catalog. Didn't need it as you described the colors instead of throwing numbers at me. Your mentioning B.A.S.S. Classic 15 lbs. got me to thinking. Remember Jimmy Houston and a few other guys put a brick in one guy's tackle box? Poor guy thought he'd get disqualified. I'm not sure how I'll select these baits yet, but I'll wait until the other guys have a chance to add their picks. Thanks for taking the time to give a definitive selection. Much appreciated. Good Fishing. JoeM PS- Hope to see you at Candy

Joe,still on a tangent but did the 15 pounds of tackle and a mystry lake never stopped the real pros from rising to the challenge. I guess at the time Ray Scott never anticapated the pros fishing the bass and the season and the location is not as important as fisherman think. Good Bassin Dan Bass

Dan- I used to work for George Oates, the guy who came in 3rd in the First Classic held at Lake Mead. Bobby Murray won and Tom Mann came in 2nd. I drew cartoons for his bass magazine and he paid me in lures. True story. Didn't Buck Perry always say "A bass is a bass...."? B.A.S.S. has helped to prove it. Keep up those great posts. Good Fishing. JoeM

Joe, After all these years everything still boils down to Dave Hawk and Buck Perry the pioneers of the Modern Pro's, it really is to bad that they were to come before the internet an instant info!!! Just try to imagine their Pro page!!! Good Bassin Dan Bass

Brian- I've been a fan of Gary's ever since he started advertising in the old Western Bass magazines. One of the first baits of his that I used was back when you had to use his skirt in front of a twintail. When he put the 2 together, hence the one-piece Hula Grub, that was a wonderful day for bass fishing. I will be looking to include the HG in some of the new colors in the 4" and 5". Hula Grubs are one of my go to baits. Thanks for the reminder. Good Fishing. JoeM
