John,
Here are my selections.
Jig- Abu-Garcia reel with 6.1 to 1 ratio. Rod six feet six inches, Lightnin' rod.
Spinnerbait. Same reel, 6" rod, 12# test line
Worm, quality spinning rod and reel, easy to use fast enough for worm and can be pitched or flipped easily, Line= Stren Easy Cast 12-14#
Tube, again spinning tackle, line 10# to 12# test.
Jerkbait same bait casting tackle, Line=14 to 17 # test, keeps bait from running too deep which isn't needed.
Zara Spook. Bait cast equipment except where in clear water neccessitates extremely long casts. Bait cast=12# line/ spinning for long casts, 10 to 12 pound line. Hope this helps. Johnnie ;\) \:\)

All you can do is increase weight size or jighead size. Use a sensitive rod if you have one. Slow the bait down. Really, you don't have to feel the bait, if a fish hits you'll know it. Good luck, Johnnie ;\) \:\)

First I use only Abu-Garcia reels and bass pro shop rods. For topwater,& spinnerbaits I use a 6.2 reel and 6' or 6'6" rod pistol grip.(med action) I feel I have better control on placing my cast.Line can be anywhere between 12 to 20 depending on cover. For flipping or picthing a jig worm or tube I use a 6.2 reel & 7.6" rod heavey to med heavey with line between 20 to 30.For crank baits I use a 5.3 reel and a bps crankin stick.med action 6.6'' line 10 to 12 and sometimes bigger if I'm trying to keep the bait up.I use a 5.3 reel because I think you pull the bait out of the fishs mouth with the faster reel, you can always crank faster with this reel.I power fish so I don't use spinning grear that much but if I need to it's abu tournament reels and bps rods med to medheavey.Line 6 to 10 small worms, tubes jigs etc. Hope this helps good luck see ya on the water.
