Heys guys, here is Field & Streams top five lures of all time. Anyone agree? What are your top five?
1. 1/8th ounce jig and twister tail, Chartreuse/sparkle.
2. Dardevle Spinnie.
3. Rapala minnow bait
4. Mepps Spinner
5. Johnson Silver Minnow Spoon
Must be for all-around fishing. I've never even heard of a Dardevle Spinnie?

Those would be more slanted toward General Fishing.

My choices for Bass.

1:Fliptail Worm
2:Spinnerbait (Can't brand this choice, not even sure which Co made them first. Include the venerable Beatle Spin!)
3:Zara Spook
4:Jig N Pig (Uncle Josh, bless his soul!)
5:Big O

These are personal choices, I'm sure everyone has their own.

Yeah I'm back, it's been a very difficult year. Hardly got to do any fishing at all after June, conputer died about the same time. Didn't get it fixed until a week or so ago.

Richard.

Hard choices here:
(1.) Bomber Fat-A-fire tiger
(2.) Wiggle Wart-gray-shad
(3.) Poe's 400 series crankbait-spook
(4.) Mann's Dragin Worm-brown/orange-beaver tail.
(5.) EV 4 Spinnerbait-gold-white/chartreuse
Like I said there are plenty more, but I never leave home without these baits. ;\) \:\)

Johnnie, Those sure are "HARD" choices. Three hard crankbaits to start with. Just would like you to let us know where your hart is about throwing CBs.(lol)
Here is my listand it is reaching way back to when I was a boy on the bank waiting for my dad to get of work and come and fish for awhile before we had to head for the house.

1. beatle spin
2. Mann's jelly worm
3. Rapala floating minnow
4. hair of feather jig under a float
5. safety pin style spinner (just love to chuck and wind those things)

Johnnie, good topic. There are certainly a lot of baits listed. I think it is important to have "favorites". Your favorites make you most comfortable and confident.
Here's my list:
1. Buzzbait - char/Blue body w/ brown skirt tipped with red. Awesome on the river!!!
2. Purple worm!!! so many different ways to fish it during so many different situations
3. Oslo - have you ever slow rolled an inline spinner bait? Try it.
4. Jig -n- Pig
5. French Fry - Salty Crawls centipede rigged wacky style on large flat in 6-12 feet of water on a windy day. Hang on to your seats!

Wow, there is so many to choose from but here are my best..

1) Double rigged Spoon, good old piece of lead in White of course with a deadly free floating #4 treble hook in front..

2) Norman DD-22, Passion Purple

3) Football Jig, 1/2 to 3/4 ounce colors Missouri Mud, Missouri Craw and PB&J with a twin tail grub trailer

4) ROBO Worm 4" bold bluegill drop shot worm

5) Baby Spook or a Baby Chug Bug

And even if it's not a lure, my Electronics Humminbird 987c SI units front and back someone finally turned on the wide screen TV set..

Good Fishing guy's!! It's time to go fishing

My top 5 all time favorite go to baits are;

#(1) mMy favorite lure of all time
The Fish-N-Fool Lures 6" Sink-N-Fool in red or green shad color fished tex-posed on a 1/0 gammy EWG without any weight. That gets about 90% of my fish and got me about 100 of the 125+ bass over 4 lbs I got last year. This is a pix of a toad I got on this same trip as the movie below on a red shad but it was to dark to take a movie of it.

Here is a video of me landing a nice N. Idaho bass on a red shad, So sorry about all the bad camera work good help is so hard to find \:\)

I think i got the broken links fixed so you can now see the videos

#(2) Fish-N-Fool Lures DeadStick-N-Fools in a 10" version for monster bass and pike.

#(3) The Rapala 5" husky jerk in trout color

#(4) Tantrum Lures Buzzbait, one of the loudest buzzbaits made.

#(5) goes to a new bait by Fish-N-Fool Lures, The Mouse-N-Fool, in a grey pearl with a white pearl belly. Got some nice toads on it last fall. Take a look at a short video of the mouse baging a nice N Idaho L.M. :p

This is a very short video showing a close up of the Mouse-N-Fool

frenzy diver
The rest are what ever is working for my partner.......when he is netting them, and I am not...
The thing is that there all good baits on there own day depending on light and water conditions

Chuck and Butch, all good selections! The plastic worm has probably caught more fish than any other bait and the older I get the more I turn to them. It's getting tough to throw large deep diving crankbaits all day!! I've been using a large flat-tailked worm lately with good results, I took the V&M Magnum Bassin' Eel as a model and make my own now with some modifications, I punch three holes in the big flat tail, that causes air bubbles as it sinks. Thanks Guys, Johnnie ;\) \:\)
