As some of you know, for the past 2 years I was a Member of a bass club here in CT. It was a lot of fun. All we did was fish CT Fed Tournaments. We had no meetings and no dues.
The guys all had big boats and the no-boaters helped pay the costs. It was a lot of fun, but it caused me to miss a number of meetings and tournaments with my "other" club. That won't be a problem this year because the CT club looks like it will fold and I resigned.
The purpose of writing this "true confession" is to ask if any of you posters belong to more than one club and to find out how you handle duplicate activities on the same day. My problem has gone away, but some of you may run into this situation as 2002 tournaments begin.
Any comments? JoeM

Joe,

I also belong to two clubs and I fish a few different tournament trails and open tournaments. This has always been a problem for me as far as conflicting schedules, but more choices are better than not enough... At least for me.

I belong to two clubs as well. The meetings are on different nights of the week and works well. I get to see the guys in both clubs and talking fishing two nights out of the month is great. The drawback of being in two clubs is when tournaments are scheduled on the same day. Than the individual must make a choice based on where in club standings they are, or more importantly, which body of water they would rather fish. I usually do not have to make that decision due to conflicts with the Bassmaster Open Trial, Foxwoods, BFL, and various regional opens, which take priority. But I still love fishing a club tournament when I can, the comradery and laughs are priceless

BC & SMB- This past year, I passed up one Club tournament to fish the CT River Fed. event. The day before, my boater reneged and I was left high and dry. The T Director offered to match me up with someone, but I decided not to do it. And I really wanted to fish the River.
Mostly I fished with our Club Members, but I drew a great boater from Plainville CT on Lillinonah. He reminded me of you two guys.
Always on top of the fish. I learned a lot about positioning from him.
Enough about me. I appreciate your comments. JoeM
