To anyone interested I just received the following press release on a new series of bass tournaments. Contact information, and somewhat of a schedule, is within the release. This was sent to me by Russ "Bassdozer" of the Gary Yamamoto Bait Company.

New Yamamoto Tour Tournament Series Presented by U.S.
Angler's Choice

Page, AZ -- July 26, 2002 -- Gary Yamamoto has announced the
new Yamamoto Tour Tournament Series presented by U.S.
Angler's Choice.

Gary Yamamoto is an international bass fishing tournament
star, lure inventor and rod designer.

U. S. Angler's Choice is the nation's largest team
tournament trail organization.

The Yamamoto Tour Tournament Series is a series of four open
team events where participants will engage in competition
for cash and prizes.

Yamamoto Tour Tournament Series locations include:

1. Lake Oroville, CA (2002),
2. Lake Guntersville, AL (2003),
3. Florida (2003), and
4. Louisiana or Texas (2003).

The Yamamoto Tour Tournament Series is truly unique since
contestants will only be allowed to use the world's finest
Gary Yamamoto salt-impregnated soft plastic baits.

Long a staple in Western waters, Yamamoto Custom Baits are
finding their way into angler's tackle boxes all over the
country for their uncanny ability to catch bass under any
condition.

"The challenge will not be whether bass will bite Yamamoto
soft baits, but which one of over 2,000 models, sizes and
colors to win with," says company spokesperson Russ
Bassdozer. "The diversity of Yamamoto's product line will
truly shine in these tournaments," adds Russ.

No points will be accrued, so anglers can fish one event,
all four, or as many as they desire. There are no
memberships required to enter, so every angler is encouraged
to participate, especially if they enjoy using Gary Yamamoto
Custom Baits.

"We're excited to be affiliated with U.S. Angler's Choice to
pull these events off. For years, we've had customers from
all over the country express their appreciation of our
products, and the idea of having a national Yamamoto tour
series for anglers has been entertained for years," says Ken
Sasaki, President of GYCB. "Partnering with the new U.S.
Angler's Choice has helped bring this to reality. We're very
excited," concluded Ken.

Dan & MMT- In the dark ages when I was growing up, they used to say:
"Truth is stranger (but a thousand times more thrilling) than fiction."

Perhaps we'll see guys coming up to the weigh-in scales wearing dark glasses with the plastic nose and mustache. Or the screen will be blurred like in "Cops" on TV. MMT, you are
right, you can't make this up.

Much obliged, fellas. JoeMo

It's just the old yank and crank invirtational. mo money n mo money.

We yank money from or pocket and they crank in the doe. But dont foreget to keep using, buying and telling everyone about it.

In defense of Gary Y, for many, many years his baits were the secret of many excellent anglers who kept it to themselves.

Specifically the split shot grub which is an excellent post-cold front bait. Also the Hula Grub which like the Garland Spider Jig, catches big bass in deep water.

The old Western Bass magazines used to highlight all these baits. In the mid-80's it wasn't "cool" in most of the country to use finesse baits.

I guess that looking at it from this perspective, GYCB is only getting their just desserts after paying their dues.

One man's opinion. JoeMo

I hear you Joe. Good bait line...severely over priced and made to fall apart so we buy more like it is crack or something. Bulk packs.....yeah right....next you'll be asking for a discount!!!!

Hey JoeMo!

I am surprised and glad to see you are the forum moderator here, my friend.

But what's up with the hood? It makes you look really kinda cold!

Your friend,

Russ- Thanks for posting. We appreciate your interest and are trying hard to build a Website that will appeal to all bass fishermen.

Thanks for the e-mail. I will be sending one out to you tonight. Bass Wishes, JoeMo

PS- I'm preparing a better photo as we speak.

To all posters:

On August 1st I posted a message that started
out saying "In defense of Gary Y......"

The final sentence was supposed to include:
"GYCB is only prospering after paying their dues."

What it came out as was:
"GYCB is only getting its just desserts after
paying their dues." That was not my intent, but I wrote it and it was wrong.

Better days are ahead. JoeMo
