A few years ago I wrote an article about excercises for fishermen in the off season. Of course, those of us ice fishing get some walking in snow, pulling out shelters and equipment, but that is a little different.
Standing on the deck, running a foot control motor can take its toll the first few trips. Try doing some toe lifts each day. This will strengthen the ankles, and leg muscles. Bending, trunk turns, and windmill excercises will keep the upper body, and shoulders in shape.
There was more to the article, but this is a quick run down.
Best of fishing,
Dan
