Anyone out there who fishes CAYUGA LAKE?
Ray C. needs a "heads up" on Cayuga as soon as possible. He will be there this weekend.

I'll add this to the "Ask the Pro Staff" Board, so that it will come up on the PS computers right away.

Ray- Good Luck. Some of your Club Members have fished there (I'm told by my "agents")
but I hear that those Members are up at Champlain.

Hi Ray:
I haven't fished Cayuga in a couple of years but I can point you in the right direction. You will probably launch at Cayuga State Park which is in the North end of the Lake.

Fish the Weed edges next to the channel which is marked by red and green bouys.
If you travel north towards the bridge, look for bouy 34. Stay a good cast away from the bouy and directly across from it. Cast towards the buoy with a 4" worm.

You will be right next to a saddle between two channels. you might have to look around for it. If the fish are there you can catch a limit in that spot. we had 1.5 to 2.0 fish there one time and 4-5 lb fish there another time. It is a "nothing looking" spot but because of the saddle it always holds fish. Fish up and down the channel also.

Fish in front of Pirates cove on right side of lake going south. Flip and pitch worms, jig and pig etc. to the thick weeds. Tournament fish are released there and many fish (especially big fish) hold there.

Keep traveling south on the right side until you get to the Yacht club (used to be called Red Cap Yacht club) There is a hump with weeds in front of the club (out past the moored boats). Look around with your electronics to find it. Tournaments have been won there. Fish worms, jig and pig etc. in that spot. If it is cloudy fish a Pop'R when the sun is hidden.

This lake is a "Fish Factory" Just fish the weed edges and the holes in the weeds you can't miss.

Good Luck!

Let me know how you did.

Frank K.
