I just returned from the BFL regional tourney at Lake Gaston, and I have been trying to analyze it ever since I left NC and headed back to Ohio.

It was tough to say the least, especially on the co-anglers like myself.

I was looking for some post-tourney or general Gaston insight. Had I gone as a boater, I think I would have keyed in on the numerous docks Gaston offered, but I never got the opportunity to fish them. We stayed in the eastern lake and fished grass edges - Ive never seen a lake with so much grass. Pretty choked up, but some nice defined edges.

Not at all what I expected to say the least! I may or may not end up at Gaston again in my career, but I want to use this trip as a learning experience, and the rules prohibit sharing info until after the event. Anyone out there have anything to share???

Thanks!

Hi Brian,

Welcome aboard the ProStaff team!

With regards to Gaston, I have not personally fished the lake, but one thing you can do is go over the details of what was done by you and your partner during the tournament to try and make sense of the day. (I'm sure you have thought it over already)

So, what happened out there? Where and what did you fish? What was the weather conditions surrounding the tournament?

What things did your partner do that you felt he could have done differently?

Was there anything you guys did that worked, even for a short period of time?

If you take the time to list out the details, we may be able to pick up on something that may have been overlooked.
