I am trying to simplify the stuff I bring in the boat, I carry 3 poles, 7'ML spinning rod, 6'6" MH baitcasters, 6'6" M baitcaster. I would apreciate some advice on how to rig these three poles. Such as test lbs, etc.

Personally, where I live alot of the lakes have thick weeds and brush piles. On my 6-6 ml spinning reel I have 8 pound copolymer, I use this rod mainly for senkos, weightless worms, slider fishing, ect. On my 6-6 medium baitcaster I have 15 pound copolymer, this rod I use alot of small spinnerbaits, soft plastics, zara spook, Pop-R, ect. I will soon buy a 7' MH baitcaster, and I am contemplating what line to put on it. I wanna do alot of frog fishing with it, so I think I am gonna put on 50 pound braid, and along with froging, use this rod for jigs, heavier worms, and spinnerbaits that are 3/8oz and above.

Well lets see I would rig my spinning rod with a finess type bait or small crankbait.

You 6'6" MH I would rig up for a Texas Rig plastic worm or creature bait. YOur 6' M rod I would rig with a spinnerbait, crankbait, or buzz bait or other top water baits.

Heres why: The spinning rod can handle small line and baits easly and cast them real well. Put you some 8 to 10lb line on the reel and use it when the fishing gets tough for finess approach. The thing about a spinning rod it they are so versital. You can skip lure easy with them as well as you could put braided line on them and fish with it in the tick stuff too.

You 6'6" MH rod can be used for larger baits and line. Being that you are in AZ I would rig it up with 12 to 17 lb test line on a good baitcaster and use it for worming and carolina rigging. Being MH action should give it plenty of back bone to handle you larger offerings with good sensitivity. A jig would also be a good choice for this rod if it is really sensitive.

Your Med action rod should handle you cranking, spinnerbaiting and top water well because it has some give to it that will help soften the hook sets with these type baits and not pull the hooks out if you -play your cards right. I would put some 10 to 12lb test line on it to fish these baits also.

I'm sure some of the others may have a different opion but thats the way I would set them up if it were me.

Hope that helps you out some.

Conley
