On my way back from ice fishing today I saw a bumper sticker, which upset me a bit. It read "Eat All Big Bass". I've never seen this before, and was wondering if anyone else has run across one of these, and knows from where they are coming. Where there is one, there are probably more. They don't print these things as singles.

Dan- It's hard to think a bass fisherman would have anything to do with a bumper sticker like the one you described. By any chance is there a Chapter of PETA anywhere around your state? Although they profess to be on the side of the animals and fish, they seem to be more interested in bad-mouthing anglers and hunters.

Do you think they might be behind this?
Thanks for posting. Joe

If it's bad or contrdicts common sense, it probably is a PETA sticker. Had a friend who was in the process of launching his boat up in Alaska, and was aproached by a PETA representative (because of his shirt). The PETA guy was very friendly until my fried walked away. You see, on the front of his shirt it read "P.E.T.A" in BOLD letters. On the back, it read (People For the Eating of Tasty Annimals), I thought that was one of the funniest things ever!

Bryan- It is always good to hear when PETA gets their comeuppance. Your friend's shirt did good. Sounds like when PETA was going to disrupt a Classic about 4 or 5 years ago. They waited at the gate on the opposite side of the building and missed the entire crowd.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch, right?

Thanks for posting. Much obliged. Joe

Just had a chance at getting back to the boards, so this is a little late in answering. Unfortunately I don't think it was PETA, as I think this vehicle came out of an area where they were ice fishing.

Also, they had a hunting dog association type sticker on the back.

This was a strange deal all around, but then again, there have been some complaints about a ruling I helped establish of 1 bass per day, with a limit of 20 inches. The meat eaters have been very upset about this one.

Dan, I think you are right, I think it's those meat hungry-so called- anglers that have been stirring up trouble in your back yard. Too bad we can't get a fix on them and send them to Iraq for awhile. I still think your rule is a good one for the benefit of the small fishery. Johnnie Crain ;\)
