Had a great afternoon today with fellow prostaffer Dan McGarry. We put on a casting clinic for 35 youths between the ages of 12 and 15. We did the event as part of the activities in the Youth Conservation Program sponsored by the New York State Sportsman's Education Program and the New York State Conservation Officers Assoc. The Kids spent a weekend at a local sportsmens club and while they are there they take the New York State required Hunter's Safety Course. At the end of day one, different groups come in and demonstrate different outdoors activities. The were trappers and falconers and we put on our demonstration. Due to inclement weather we had to use the bowling alleys as the casting area. It's nice to see a kid hit a pie plate at 20 feet with a pitch, knowing they have never used a baitcaster before. Many thanks to another prostaffer, Tim Carini for providing giveaways from his sponsor, Lunker City. If you get the opportunity to do a demonstration, don't pass it up, its good for the sport and it will put a smile on your face too.
Tight Lines,
Frank

Frank, it was a pleasure working with you and the young men and ladies. I hope to be able to come back again next year and work with you again. I am happy to see that there is still an interest in the outdoors and Conservation with the young people on Long Island and as my Sponsors have said if it is for the children always be there. Good Bassin Dan Bass

Frank and Dan, Many THANKS to you guys for taking the time to help kids out. As the Iowa Youth Director for CastingKid's I know it is great fun, but also a little work. We need more guys like you who will sacrifice fishing time for the kids, great job!! Johnnie \:\) ;\)
