Had a great afternoon today with fellow prostaffer Dan McGarry. We put on a casting clinic for 35 youths between the ages of 12 and 15. We did the event as part of the activities in the Youth Conservation Program sponsored by the New York State Sportsman's Education Program and the New York State Conservation Officers Assoc. The Kids spent a weekend at a local sportsmens club and while they are there they take the New York State required Hunter's Safety Course. At the end of day one, different groups come in and demonstrate different outdoors activities. The were trappers and falconers and we put on our demonstration. Due to inclement weather we had to use the bowling alleys as the casting area. It's nice to see a kid hit a pie plate at 20 feet with a pitch, knowing they have never used a baitcaster before. Many thanks to another prostaffer, Tim Carini for providing giveaways from his sponsor, Lunker City. If you get the opportunity to do a demonstration, don't pass it up, its good for the sport and it will put a smile on your face too.
Tight Lines,
Frank
