i have been fishing the winter months alot this year for larg mouth bass. and i was wanting to know why the bigger fish hit alot lighter thn the smaller fish, at ths time of year?

BY nature, bigger bass are a little less agressive than smaller bass. They have "learned" to be more cautious. Smaller fish know that due to their size they must hit the prey hard-bite and run- so to speak. Bigger fish know they can simply inhale the bait and nothing is going to take it away from them. Cold water affects larger bass more than smaller bass, and naturally bigger bass are slower moving than the litttle guys. I find your statement true even in summer, some of my lightest bites have resulted in some big ole bass. and versa visa. Thanks for the question. Keep them coming. Johnnie Crain
