Wow 19.5, dang I wonder if that is his PB.
I previously posted a link to some videos that Butch has posted up on the Huddleston website (huddlestondeluxe.com), can't wait to see this new one.
Up until now 19 was the biggest I've ever heard of coming out of the Lagoon and that was last spring some guy got one on a live crawdad up at the north end of the Lagoon.
Previous year there was an 18.5 nailed on a salt and pepper Yamamoto twin tail grub down on the south end by the docks next to the launch ramp. From the shoreline on plastics.
I'll be fishing there tomorrow again, and I'll tell ya what; if you've got the time Castaic Lagoon has got some monster trophy bass. That's for sure.
Fact is that's why I love fishing there... it can be killer tough at times but man it also makes the hair stand up on my arms as I'm getting ready to make a cast just knowing that those monsters are in there.
It would be interesting to know how many guys must have caught their PB LMB at Castaic Lagoon.
My other woman is Lady Lagoon!!!!
Good fishing to you guys, later.......... geobass

Turns out the fish was a 19 lb. 3 oz monster. Hey any of you guys watched that video yet?
What is incredible also is the fact that the lure appears to come flying out of the mouth of the bass just a fraction of a second after he gets the tail of the fish into the net.
Dang........ that was a close call!!!! Way to go Butch.
You're doing Lady Lagoon proud with your new PB and a lake record to boot. Congratulations!! That is just awesome.
And considering that that fish us just 3 lbs. 3 oz. under world record weight. That would put it somewhere in the top twenty bass of all time on the World Record list.
But that's what I've been saying about why the Lagoon excites me so much. That lake is small, only 1/2 a mile long from end to end and in most parts about a 1/4 mile wide.
I get chills on my spine and the hair stands up on my arms sometimes as I'm getting prepared to make a cast just knowing that those monsters are in there. Plus he released the fish so who knows man, all that thing has to do is chow down good on all the stocker trout they keep planting in there and that thing could be a world record bass after a few good meals.
And who cares if ya get skunked six times in a row at the Lagoon.
Your just doing a little dues paying, that's all. A little T&T as my boss says... Time on the water and Turns of the prop!!!
I once saw a bass in the Lagoon that was 36" long.... I wonder if that was the one.
Holy Cow!!!!! One of these days man the next world record LMB may come out of my home lake. Castaic Lagoon a little slice of bass fishing heaven on earth!!!!
Good fishing to you guys, later......... geobass
