When I used to live on that little long piece of real estate south of Connecticut, I used to read some outrageous comments by one of the local outdoor writers.

He would say "Jack X. decked a largemouth in Vapor Pond." or "Looie D. crushed a pickerel out at Polyps Lake".

He fished in my boat during one tournament at
a lake where I lived. I wanted to see what it felt like to "deck" or "crush" a fish. But alas, a blue norther came in from up in Saskatchewan someplace. We crushed nothing. The guy who won never showed up again, leading us to believe that he might have gotten decked instead. As one of the guys said "He's probably guiding somewhere in the wilds of Mexico or Canada."

Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. (And if the guy reads this, I might be the one to get "decked") JoeMo

No, the tournament I wrote about in my opening post in this thread. You sent me a blue face which led me to ask if you were the guy who won the tournament (and was never heard from again!)

Maybe the humor was too subtle or crashed and burned! Sorry. JoeMo

My favorite saying; " If you're too busy to go fishing, you're too busy!"

Old, but I like it.
Little ole lady standing near the shoreline of the lake crying, two anglers came by and asked what was wrong? Lady says;" A big fish jumped out of the water and ate my poodle. Anglers say;" Quick Lady, what color was that poodle?" :p

Ever notice how Babe Winkelman never calls a fish by its real name. To him, a smallmouth is a smallie, toad, jumper, brownie. Pike are always snakes, weed tiger, biter. I guess things are different in Minnesota.
