I heard this new phrase the other day. CPR Catch, Picture, and Release. I practice this all the time and I hope that most everyone else does this too. CPR is very important for big bass fishing.

Bassmaster, you're right, CPR is a great thing, been doing it for years, nearly used up a roll of film. Mounted trophys are great, but you can't carry them around with you so photos are super. I even bought a trpod mount for my camera for when I'm fishing alone. Johnnie ;\) \:\)

that is a good idea johnny. I need to check that out so i could take pics of my fish when i am fishing alone. i usually just look at it and let it go if i am by myself. Keep on doing that johnny. I love hearing of bass fishermen that use CPR! \:\)

The CPR was first started a few years ago when Polaroid was a sponsor of Bassmasters. In my field I was doing it for years prior. The original saying was Catch, Photograph and Release.

I too use a tripod, but when I don't have one I place the camera on the back deck seat and use it.

A digital camera is very handy for this situation. You can take a quick look and see if the photo was framed well enough before releasing the fish. I've been able to get good enough photos that some were used in my magazine articles. That should cofuse the publishers when you put your own name on a photo as "photo credit". \:\)

Best of fishing,
Dan

It would be great if all would practice CPR. It's the only way I fish. Great to do with the kids and don't forget to keep all those exceptional release shots in the photo album.

My kids beg me to let them be the one to let the fish go!!!
Start the good habits early and set a good expample for others, they stick with it.

Good fishing to you guys, later............ geobass
