I got to check out the reel before it was shipped out, and it felt really smooth and solid... it's not a SOL, but it felt smoother than my Shimano Stradics...

I think it is going to come back with a good report.

Oh ya i'm sure it will. The only thing I didn't like about it was the handle. But your right it's not a Sol, but it's not far behind.

What specifically did you not like about the handle?

I guess actually it would be the grip...I personally like the flat grip, and there larger spinning reels i noticed tend to have a grip like the one pictured above.

I ask because one of the main reasons I am swithing everything over to Daiwa is because of the handles... my Stradics are metal at the base of the "T" handle and it starts to bother my hand after a while. For me, it's important that the whole handle (not including the arm) be comfortable. I'll need to take a closer look at the handle on the Advantage and compare it to the Sol. Thanks for the input...

I hear ya...in this day of ergonomics, yo would think they would put good handles on the reels.

Well I can tell you from the little bit that I have "played" around with it, It sure beats what I have in the boat right now as far as spinning reels. But then again I'm not much of a spinning rod fisherman.

The two Spinning reels I have are Mitchels and I thought they were pretty good!
Thanks,
